It’s been revealed that the Lamborghini Huracan successor will be equipped with a hybrid twin-turbo V8 engine.
The Lamborghini Huracan successor –code name Lamborghini 634–will join the High-Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) line. It will be equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine coupled with a hybrid system featuring three electric motors. This configuration will be linked to an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, initially debuted in the Lamborghini Revuelto. Tailored specifically for this new model, the system is designed to produce a peak output exceeding 900 CV (approximately 887 HP).
The all-new engine represents a pinnacle of engineering prowess, crafted to surpass the performance levels of the current Huracán lineup. This twin-turbo V8 combines the seamless acceleration of Lamborghini’s celebrated V10 with the powerful force and impressive torque typical of modern turbocharged engines, marking the beginning of a new chapter in automotive excellence. Here’s everything you need to know about the Huracan successor’s engine.
The 2025 Lamborghini Huracan successor engine.
The successor to the Huracan will be powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine, boasting a 4.0-liter capacity and a remarkable output of 200 CV per liter. This engine reaches its peak power of 800 CV between 9,000 to 9,750 rpm, pushing boundaries with a maximum engine speed of 10,000 rpm—a level usually reserved for motorsport applications. This unique capability distinguishes the new V8 in the world of road-legal super sports cars. Moreover, it features a peak torque of 730 Nm accessible from 4,000 to 7,000 rpm. The exhilarating torque curve, reminiscent of a race car’s engine, is enhanced by the smooth integration of the electric motor with the combustion engine.
The newly designed rear electric system for the V8 is strategically placed between the combustion engine and the dual-clutch gearbox. This system incorporates the inverter along with the axial electric unit, skillfully balancing high performance and efficiency. It delivers robust torque and power, peaking at 300 Nm and 110 kW at 3,500 rpm, yet maintains a compact profile and minimal weight to enhance overall vehicle dynamics for the Lamborghini Huracan successor.
