Sound is a big thing in the automotive world of Lamborghini. And the Lamborghini acoustic test room proves that.
Sports car lovers dream of the day they can hit the pedal in a Lamborghini and hear the roar of that V-10- or V12 engine. Now, the luxury brand has the Lamborghini acoustic test room where their car’s roars, wails, and rumbles can be further enhanced and fine-tuned by a team of experts.
It’s kind of like an in-house recording studio for Italian exotic hypercars.
“The acoustic test room, which has been realized according to the latest technical standards, allows adjustment of particular sound sensations in order to create the typical Lamborghini driving experience, involving all the senses,” Lamborghini recently told the media.
The new Lamborghini acoustic test room will go beyond just making Italian supercars sound even better but “support the acoustic adjustment of lightweight construction components (while playing) an important role in the realization of future vehicle concepts and drive train systems.”
It’s all part of an expansion of Lamborghini’s prototype and pre-series vehicle development facilities.

The production plant is in essence gearing up for further production of the new super-SUV of the brand, the URUS.
And the perfect sound design is part of that process – even essential to the Urus for defining the audible brand signature of the legendary car maker, according to Lamborghini.
“The sound of a Lamborghini represents one of the most emotive experiences attached to the super sports car marque. The Lamborghini acoustic test room, which has been realized according to the latest technical standards, allows adjustment of particular sound sensations in order to create the typical Lamborghini driving experience, involving all the senses,” according to Siemens company, which is working with Lamborghini and whose Simcenter Amesim platform allows design engineers to virtually assess and optimize the systems’ performance.
A great-sounding engine and head-turning design are just part of what makes the Urus great. Born of pure Lamborghini DNA and oozing with beauty, performance, and speed, the 2023 Lamborghini Urus is among the most accomplished super SUVs on the market today.

The Urus gains performance with this year’s introduction of the new “S” and Performante variants, the latter of which churns out 657 horsepower, an increase of 16 hps from the standard Urus.
The Urus concept itself embodies a visionary concept: An SUV with the soul – and drive – of a great Italian sports car.
The Urus S replaces the base model for 2023 but its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine gives it the same performance as the class-topping Performante.

Here are some other features you will love:
- The Urus S delivers a whopping 657 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque.
- The Urus S and the Performante are the last Urus SUVs to be launched without electrification.
- The 2023 Urus S has a retuned exhaust system that delivers a more distinct sound as you start the engine.
- The Urus S has new front and rear ends, a matte black steel skid plate up front, a revised grille, and a carbon-fiber hood with new designs for the vents.
- For the interior, Lamborghini has developed new color combinations and added new connectivity features.
- Expect maximum capability and comfort on any terrain and road condition.
It’s a Lamborghini that can tow and carry a family, but with life-changing performance and plenty of sex appeal and exoticism.
“The Performante rides on a different suspension than the base S, one that has steel springs instead of air springs and sits 0.8 inches lower than normal. The Performante is also available with special shoes in the form of 23-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires,” Car & Driver notes. “While it still has a hefty curb weight of 5200 pounds, (the) Performante is pounds lighter than the Urus S thanks to the addition of carbon-fiber body panels and the removal of sound-deadening materials, among other weight-loss measures.”
Finally, the 2023 model year also brings reworked front and rear ends as well as a new fixed spoiler above the liftgate for the Performante, the magazine noted. The Performante also has its own specific seats and unique trim for the interior.
It’s a history-making game-changer in many ways. The 2023 Urus offers best-in-class driving dynamics, alongside its unmistakable elegance of design.
